Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase Global announced on Wednesday it has started to accept meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin for commerce payments.

Dogecoin (DOGE) became the 7th cryptocurrency for merchants to accept payments on Coinbase’s e-commerce portal, according to an announcement on Twitter. The platform currently also supports Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ether (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), as well as stablecoins Dai (DAI) and USD Coin (USDC).

The company provided details on its website on how vendors using the Shopify Inc. platform can accept multiple cryptocurrencies, including Dogecoin, on their Shopify store with Coinbase Commerce.

An integration with Coinbase.com enables Coinbase Commerce customers to convert their crypto payments into U.S. dollars, euros, British pounds, or USDC without leaving the e-commerce portal. The same integration for Coinbase Prime and Pro accounts will be available soon.

As reported before, Coinbase has started listing Dogecoin for sell, buy and store on its Pro platform last month.

Dogecoin is based on the 2013 Internet meme doge and was created in jest in the same year when Bitcoin’s enthusiastic but niche community began to strengthen around its pseudonymous creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.
