After 2 years of the Covid-19 pandemic, Blockchain Economy Summit is again back in Istanbul on July 27-28, 2022. The event will bring together more than 3,000 participants from 55 countries around the world to discuss the future of finance, Web3, NFTs, Metaverse, DeFi, regulation of the crypto sector, the implementation of blockchain technology in businesses and governments, and much more.
2nd Turkey edition of the Summit was the last major blockchain event held in Turkey before the pandemic, and now, Summit’s 4th edition will be the first one to gather the crypto community on the bridge between Europe and Asia at one of Istanbul’s most prominent and renowned venues: Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel.
According to Chainanalysis data, crypto adoption has significantly increased since the pandemic began.
“At the end of Q2 2020, following a period of little growth, total global adoption stood at 2.5 based on our summed up country index scores,” the Chainanalysis 2021 Global crypto adoption index says. “At the end of Q2 2021, that total score stands at 24, suggesting that global adoption has grown by over 2300% since Q3 2019 and over 881% in the last year.”
Today, 16% of Turkey’s population – 13,6 million people – own crypto, which makes Turkey one of the largest crypto-owning countries in the world. Thus, now Turkey’s crypto market is hotter than it was ever before.
