Spanish football club “Atlético de Madrid” has partnered with crypto exchange platform WhaleFin to launch its first NFT collection of football boots on the STEPN mobile application. These NFTs will allow users to enter the draw for an exclusive experience that will include a trip and hotel nights, as well as tickets to see a live match of the team.

On August 19, Atletico Madrid confirmed the new partnership with WhaleFin to launch a collection of 1,001 football boots in NFT format exclusively on the STEPN mobile application.

The initiative is part of the collaboration between Atlético de Madrid and WhaleFin, Amber Group’s reference platform, major sponsor, and Official Digital Wealth and Lifestyle Partner of the club.

Launched in December 2021, STEPN is a lifestyle move-to-earn mobile application allowing users to walk, jog or run to earn digital assets. STEPN mobile app will be equipped with shoes in NFT format to reward users based on their daily walks on the mobile fitness app.

Atletico Madrid will create a limited edition of 1,001 football boots divided into three groups; Common, Uncommon, and Rare. The first batch of 850 Common football boots will feature the club’s national and international titles, including the date and the place there initially won.

The second edition will feature 140 uncommon boots and will commemorate the stadium. The club will number the remaining 11 rare boots from 1 to 11, representing the number of footballers who appears at the start of each match.

These NFTs will allow users to enter the draw for an exclusive experience that will include a trip and hotel nights, as well as tickets to see a live match of the team at the Cívitas Metropolitano.

According to the team, the NFT collections will debut before the end of this month. 10% of the profit from the NFT sales will go towards the Atlético de Madrid Foundation to finance International Schools.

“The integration with WhaleFin will open up a new world of possibilities for the club and our fans all over the planet. Exploring new ways of getting in touch with our followers and with communities like STEPN allows us to discover day by day the new options offered by Web3,” noted Íñigo Aznar, the commercial director of Atlético de Madrid.

Mable Jiang, the Chief Revenue Officer of STEPN, added:

“This partnership with WhaleFin and Atlético de Madrid will offer a unique experience to all fans globally. Through this collaboration, we aim to connect the world of physical activity with the Web3 space by providing tangible rewards in the real world. We are happy to work with such a renowned organization to promote a healthy lifestyle and interaction with its fans.”

All interested participants could register on the WhaleFin app starting August 26 to acquire participation tickets.

Recently, the NFT project Crypto Arabs announced its NFT collection and education masterclasses for its community members.
